The problem
A Formula Student front wing has to be as light and stiff as possible to carry aerodynamic loads, yet strong enough to survive the hits it takes on track, especially against the cones that mark the course.
What I did
- Designed the composite lamination of the wing.
- Defined its internal architecture and the mounting system to the car.
- Ran several simulations, including an explicit impact analysis to evaluate the strength ratio of the wing when hitting a cone at different speeds.

Results
[MASS, STIFFNESS, WHETHER IT WAS BUILT AND RACED, TEAM RESULTS THAT SEASON]
What came next
After the chassis department I became the team's Workshop Manager, running the production spaces and bringing in new sponsors.
